Hey, you don't suppose that Neville's wand was made from that unicorn hair mentioned back in Chapter 5, do you? The one that's related to Meghan's wand?
Regardless, who do you think might have the other two?
Nice chapter, BTW: I love the way you're weaving canonical stuff in and out of the new; it's a while since I read that boggart/patronus scene but it sounds wonderfully familiar.

Superb as ever.
One question: did I miss where Cedric found out about Harry's animagus form? Otherwise, how did he know that the "Wolf" jumping on him was actually Harry?
Anne B. Walsh replied:
He found out about it just a few moments before, when he was off to one side watching and saw Harry transform.

I think one of the things I love about these stories is that scenes which might in other context be dismissed as "fluff", such as "Draco & Luna sitting in a tree" [smirk], are demonstrably nothing of the sort: they are vital character-building elements and as such work perfectly.
I looked for that "super-long songfic", but couldn't find it: am I looking in the wrong places?

at my writing of this this book was long completed, so this may be coming but: I really really hope u have some major characters die..its more realistic and ufn and enjoyable when everything doesnt end up perfect..also i would like if the "prid" could do things on their own without the adults coming to their rescue

This is sort of a review for the entire series thus far. Because I'm lazy, and can't be bothered to review every chapter...
The *really* fun thing about your series is that it's totally believable. I mean, generally, I hate OCs. And your story is chock full of them. So logically, I should hate it.
I'm not saying that I do! Because I totally don't!
Your characters, though, are totally believable. I read your stories, and then grab the book and go, "Wait! Why is Harry with the Dursleys?! Where are Danger and Aletha and Meghan?! What happened to the Pack?! Where did it goooo?!?!?!"
Which, I know, is kind of scary.
But then, I never really liked the books anyway. You write it so much better.
The trials and hardships you put the Pack through seem totally natural, like of COURSE that would happen to them. The custody trial, for instance, and Hermione and Draco's twin-ship and whatnot. It all seems totally real. And when I think about it, there's no way that I would have been able to even think up half this stuff, let alone write it so that people believe it! But you write it so believably that... Well... Arg. If I try to finish that sentence, I'll make an idiot of myself. More so than I already have, anyway.
And I'm once again reaching the stage of a review where I stop saying things that might have meaning buried somewhere deep within and start jabbering pointlessly, regardless of all the things I still want to say.
I hate this stage.
But, seriously, I love your stories sooooo much! Please, keep up the good work!

Ah yes, I remember the line now. I have (and the shows I've been in) have referred to that as simply the 'Prologue' which is how it is also listed in my few recordings in the sleeve notes.

Scott

I'm not normally one to nit pick (especially when this chapter has been up for so long!) but.... :P you've got quite a few errors with regards to Joseph with regards to the characters that sing songs and even the song titles.
First off the ranks, Ron, you have him singing 'ONe More Angel In Heaven'. You have stated that his character is Levi, when in the show Ruben sings this song.
Second, I don't know where you get the song 'You Are What You Feel' from, in all the productions I have seen and been in, there is no song with that title, let alone the words.
Third, Fleur singing 'Those Canaan Days'. You have her playing Ruben, when it is actually Simeon.
I also wouldn't call the song 'Potiphar' as a duet between the narrator and Potiphar.
In your author notes, you claim Luna and Draco sing a song together, However, Mrs Potipar (Luna's character) does not even sing in the entire musical unless she sings as part of the female ensemble.
You also have the words that Harry is singing just before the scene falls down wrong.
Sorry to be so picky, but it really jolted me out of the whole story line for those moments.
regards,
Scott

I think that we are working from different versions of the show. I'm away from home at the moment and can't check on this, but as soon as I get back, I will investigate.
The song "You Are What You Feel" is the title I have for the opening monologue by the Narrator. "If you think it, want it, dream it, then it's real; you are what you feel."

Flame you? Far from it.
I estimate this story as about 500,000 words. That means you've written several tomes longer than _Atlas Shrugged_, and they hold the reader's interest all the way through.
These Dangerverse stories are the best fanfic that I've read. I think that if you wrote this well about your own characters, you would have good, solid, salable fiction. No guarantees it would do as well as the HP books, but I think you are more than good enough to write and sell fantasy.

your view on social services is dead on. They are often like that. The story is great!

You are evil. And since you are, no examples.
And finally, someone will notice the buzzing. I hope its pretty hard on Skeeter, she definitely deserves it.

Question: Obviously, it makes a lot of sense to think that Voldemort, being resurrected as he was using HARRY'S blood, would be able to bypass the blood-wards, is that not true?
I'll wait and see if this is just a necessity of the plot or what...

Nice twist. Love it. The idea of getting to Slughorn early is quite a new idea! Can't wait to see what happens next...

Darn you... I was really, really hoping Cedric might live... silly author teasing us like that...

"A wand is a deadly weapon".
"Any spell can kill."
Too often people forget this (and I mean people in the sense of people, fans, ficauthors, etc., as well as characters.) One of the things that always bothered me about the wizarding world was the giving of deadly weapons to 11 year olds. What would someone think of a parent who bought their 11 year old a gun?
Or maybe the wizards have the right idea (not buying kids guns, but letting them see them, be around them. Let them know exactly what it's capable of, and why it's so dangerous.).
Question of the century.

It's funny. I've been a (sort of) fan of Remus/Tonks long before it was even a possibility in the books, yet the first time you showed Charlie and Tonks together, I actually forgot they weren't a pair in the books? Remus/Danger is now so thoughrouly in my mind that I was almost done with Living Without Danger before I remembered that Remus and Tonks got together in cannon! Now, reading HBP feels... a little strange.
I normally HATE original characters. My mother is always reading stories about muggle friends and relatives of characters who suddenly get magic, are paired of with a cannon character, and change the world of HP as we know it. I never understood why she liked those stories so much. I've never been able to read one without gagging.
Not this storyline. Your characters are so real, so round, so right that they're as real to me as Ginny, Hermione, or Neville. I've laughed with them, cried with them, loved with them. In my near decade of reading fanfiction, no story, AU or not, original characters or not, one-shot or not, has ever made me stand in awe the way yours has. I know you are still working on the fourth story, and I want you to know that I cannot wait to read the complete work.
I meant to do this whole spiel at the end, but it came out now. I give you a standing ovation, such as I have never given before.

Yay! Redemption!Nott is starting to make an appearence!
At least I think it's Nott. Wasn't there a mention of someone else back in first year... a thin boy who didn't look like he was enjoying himself?
Huh, maybe it's not Nott after all!
Then I wonder who it is... *ponders*
