I love the John White disguise. It is so Clark Kent.

Hi!

I should really probably be asleep, but I'm not. Poor Harry. Seeing him in the cupboard always makes me tear a little. Heck, just thinking about it does. He's so little, but I think you get across what he's thinking pretty well for all that. Ah, how terrible. He loves and needs the others already. It's wonderful, and heartbreaking, and I'm so glad the Dursleys get cursed.

Oh and when Danger thinks: "We’re going to be an interesting household, to be sure. A latent and untrained witch, a werewolf, an escaped convict, a Ministry witch with a double life, and two of the most powerful magical children in the country. " I just wanted to tell her, "You have nooo idea."

Cheers

Why'd I skim this chapter again? Oh yeah, I was too impatient to find out what happened. And I missed one of the many adorable, funny slice-of-life scenes that are scattered throughout this series. Forgive me, Letha. I know better for next time. You're too funny to skim! All of you are!

And the curse. Again. And I loved it. AGAIN. Because the Dursleys deserved it and I don't think anyone who has read canon or this fic will argue that point.

And now I dive into a part I skimmed because I was so desperate to see Sirius again. I really should stop soon. I can't just read until I'm done. That'll take AGES.

This chapter, as silly as it might seem, really hits home for me. Because I know children who have spent part of their childhood in worse conditions that what your Harry does here. Some of them spend their entire childhood living like that, and most of them don't recover, if they even survive it. To think about my daughter spending her early years like this (my wife and I adopted her when she was 3 1/2) because her family didn't want her due to her disability....I wish...well I wish a lot of things, but thank you for not being afraid to address the true horror of what happens to a child who is neglected and unloved, and what a big impact just a little bit of love and affection can have.

Not fulfilling someone's need is not a crime. Not feeding a child that is your to feed is a crime, but your wording is bad.

The casual working of a previously thought impossible wandless curse of Justice is as bad as the telepathic soul bond. Have you considered the need for privacy within your on mind?

Poor Harry. I'm liking that you're not going hard on him, it's unusual to find a fanfic that doesn't these days.

Harry, the poor little tyke, is lucky to have been discovered before he could die from the abuse/neglect and illness, all while lock inside the cupboard under the stairs.

I appreciated this chapter the first time around. Your cursing the Dursleys is one of the best things I've seen happen to them. Loved the payback that it brings down upon them.

I've read the first seven chapters of Living with Danger last night and today, and I'm very impressed. Excellent characterization, well plotted, and the humor all works! And apparently the Dursleys are going to get what's coming to them....

Seriously, though, I like how the Dursleys' frank abuse of Harry is painted realistically. Given their attitude towards Harry, it's unlikely that the Dursleys would have treated Harry as well as they did. It's also unlikely that Harry would have grown up as normally as he is depicted in the canon.

In any case, great work! I'll be reading the rest!

To be honest, upon re-reading this chapter, the Threefold Curse of the Righteous seems a little outlandish. I could buy everything that happened up until now--including Danger's dreams and werewolf-taming--but this stretched my suspension of disbelief a little far. Not sure exactly why, though. Some subtle combination of factors, I suppose.

Also I have this recurring image of Remus and Letha as secret agents, complete with the 007 bag of tricks.

Poor, poor Harry. The curse was a good idea though. Good chapter.

The Threefold Curse of the Righteous. What a lovely scene. I wonder what Dumbledore's reaction will be when he susses this bit out.
