Great chapter! I am super excited about the update! Does this mean we can expect to see more soon?

I'll do my best.

Ah, the plot continues. Also the elflets attempting to dust the shelves reminded me a lot of my favorite scene in the second "Mummy" movie - "Mom, Dad, I can explain everything." :)
Good thinking on Lee's part - not only is this really good for Maya, but it's bound to help hold together what everybody pledged at the start.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Yep!

Scare us away? As if! Lovely to have you back, sorry to hear you've not been too well, and how dare real life intrude on fabulous fanfiction?! What a fantastic chapter, lots happening as always. Loved the Lee and Harry interaction and Lee/Maya stuff. JK never really gave enough time to the "chorus" of her Hogwarts, in my opinion, and I always liked Lee Jordan, so it's great to see him get lots more screentime, as it were. Will we get to hear what is happening outside of Hogwarts while this is all going on? Is the Ministry still being its usual slightly obnoxious self, for example? And what is Voldie up to? Hope to see more soon now you're back with us...
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Yes, Lee's a darling. And as for the Ministry and Voldie-moldie... stay tuned!

K, so i had to start over reading after a sentence or two, cause i didn't actually see what the update was for--i thought it was for BC.
VERY pleasant surprise!
Lee is one of my favorite canon characters, im glad he's making his own pride.
I thought he'd include Fred and George in it though, they are his best friends... but that can still happen right?
Ah, wonderful!
Thank you for being wonderful!
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Fred and George weren't interested. It's not their sort of thing.

Major surprise, but a good surprise. I loved the fluffiness! I loved the idea of a second Pride, but why the different oath, no pendants etc.? And will it have a different name?
Anne B. Walsh replied:
The different oath was because the oath our Pride took has bigger repercussions, and the pendants are tied to that. They'll work out the naming conventions later.

I doubt you've scared anyone away with the lag times. I'm too eager to read more than wish it was possible for you to post more often. Thank you for updating this excellent story.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
You're welcome. Here's hoping I can do that!

I liked this chapter much better. There are still serious things going on, but the element of hope is so much stronger. Glad to see this story being updated, too. Maybe the words just need to get out...
I can so see Paul leaving the note in their new Sanctuary, ‘Paul Was Here.’ and his sister complaining to their father...
I think the idea of creating a new Pride is a good one, for many reasons - I think Maya's condition was just the catalyst. Does this new Pride include everyone, or just the students specifically listed (from all the Houses, I notice)?
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Yeah, the words kick until I let 'em out. There will be more Prides, but eight seems like a good size. Small enough that you can trust everyone, big enough that it doesn't feel too claustrophobic. And they're missing Hufflepuff, but that will be remedied in the next Pride to form.

To clarify - I'm feeling rather stupid right now. Apparently I read this a couple of moinths ago, so of COURSE it feels familiar. I opened the new chapter and decided to reread the previous in preparation. Got a bad spell of vertigo and laid down for two hours. Came back and finished rereading this chapter thinking it was the new one.
Off to read the REAL new chapter. Sorry for the confusion.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.

Okay, this started oiut as a very depressing chapter. (Maybe it was worse for me because I have my very best friend battling cancer, and if she is lucky, there might be a year left. Kind of hit close to hime, kwim?)
I'm glad the pack parents came to help comfort, and it's good to see Neenie continuing to improve from her ordeal. I have this incredible sense of deja vu, like I've read this chapter before. Was there something about it over on TBC? Very strange feeling, please explain.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Sorry to hear about your friend. You and she are in my prayers.

"Be Careful" more than makes up for the lag times. This chapter was sweet and I'm glad it focused mostly on Maya and Lee. The surprise was even cooler. One Giant Pride against the darkness. WOOT.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Aww, thanks. And the Prides are separate groups, but they will certainly work together to fight the Dark!

Okay, I tried, I really did, but I just can't hold it in...
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm better now. Thank you.
It wasn't the actual Oath. Will they be a reallytruly Pride? And oooooooo, ominousity, foreshadowing, ooooooo.
SO glad to see this. Lag, schmag, I have faith in you, that there will be more story eventually. Meantime, I go re-read other stuff, some of it actually published. Waiting is, for fullness.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
It wasn't the actual Oath because the actual Oath does something even more than bind a Pack or a Pride. More on that later. They are indeed a true Pride, sworn to protect one another's lives, and at least one of them will prove that in the years to come...

Brilliant update, I was starting to worry that you'd forgotten about this story with all the updates to your other works. Glad to see I was just being paranoid.
There's still the overwhelming implication of sadness ahead, given what Luna might or might not know, but chapters like this help divert the focus.
Looking forward to more.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
I never forget about this story. (No matter how much I try... kidding, kidding.) Yes, there's a lot of sadness ahead, but there is also joy.

You don't scare me that easily .... much.
It seems to me that you are setting things up now for the remainer of the story. Showing the preperations that need to be made but not forgetting the personal stories behind the necessary stuff.
Looking forward to more (don't I always)

That's pretty accurate. Getting all my ducks in a row before we go hurtling down that slope. And I've just mixed my metaphors horrendously.
