Heh, now I can just see Harry holding that blood quill, looking ready to start writing, when it suddenly incinerates, and Harry goes: "Oops?"
I don't know whether this will happen, but it's a great mental image nonetheless. I can't imagine Umbridge has spares.

It's a good compromise, I think. I'll be able to say more when we see the exact amount of trouble the blood bond causes him. I do know enough by now to expect at least moderate difficulties, though. It also depends on how quickly the lupus symptoms fade when the locket is removed.
I'm also looking forward to seeing what happens to that other locket. I'm not looking forward to seeing Draco get possessed in the 'winter times', though, which will happen if I interpreted the words correctly. Stupid angst. Don't you see the beauty of crushing one's enemy beneath your heel, and he hasn't the ghost of a chance?
That's not even what I'm asking, though. It would be much better if you didn't feel it necessary to repeatedly crush the main characters' morale. A good story can still function without that without becoming boring. This negative anticipation does nobody any good.
At least the prophecy also hints that Umbridge will gain no foothold in Hogwarts, which is definitely a good thing, if I'm interpreting the words correctly.
Good to see that Ginny can take the hint that Harry can take no hints. Now, if Harry grew a little more perceptive, we might actually be getting somewhere... ;)
So Neville used the Ring of Hufflepuff in the Pride's bonding ritual. I'm not sure I like the sound of this. If the ring was indeed a Horcrux, it could conceivably have opened a link between the Pride and Voldemort. I'm interested to see where you are going with this.

Pride hands down. But it will be ugly. I think it a great compromise, that way it will not have any lasting effects.

Excellent chapter! In the long run, my money's on the Pride....but Umbridge will do her worst to mess them up! Here's hoping that they put a major block of frustration on Umbridge, Moldyshorts and his pest for brains minions unlucky Lucy and the Worm!

Umbrdige vs Pride? At this point I don't see her lasting past Hallowe'en. And the Blood Quill is right out the window with daddy-moony on the job, let alone the rest of the pack-parents.
But I sort of do hope you let the pride deal with Dolores on their own, instead of having Danger/et-al step in.
A temporary blood bond is an interesting idea, as long as Remus releasing Harry's magic isn't also a temporary thing.
Snapes' idea was much less dangerous sounding than I had expected.
So the monster in Harry's chest gets a bit of encouragement, in the form of a kiss, eh?
thanks for sharing,
keep up the great work!

It always takes me a couple of sentences to get back into the story, but then everything comes flooding back, and wham! I'm in the Dangerverse again, well and truly into it.
Harry's powers are unlocked - very exciting! And they're working out the Horcrux two whole books in advance, which is definately good. They still seem a little young, but maybe it's the lack of capslock!Harry, i don't know. Here's hoping we skip the fiasco of Cho entirely and go straight for Ginny ... although are we allowed to talk about that? Or is that motion permanent? All the same the pride are clearly growing up - and I'm prepared to bet my copy of book seven that in an open pride + weasleys vs Umbridge, our favourite toad may just get what she deserves.
Oh yes, and thank you once again for updating. I appreciate the work that obviously goes into each chapter, and understand how hard it is to keep churning out the story. The fact that we are hanging off your every word should help though!

Excellent chapter as always.
By the end of the school year, I say that the Frog-Woman would spend at least 3 years in St. Mungo's for each member of the Pride. Perhaps then she might know her own name:-P.

A flagging spirit must be fed;
Sing, then, O twin, of royal red,
And bring twofold rewards of glee
And necessary foolery.
Hehe this one screams Gred and Forge being involved...
Yay on the decision, I think its a great compromise and a nice way to get Harry's powers unbound...though I wonder if the power will be bound up again if he takes the amulet off?
And I really hope the water was tears and not more flaming snot...

Umbridge vs Pride?
I'd say the Umbitch is going to get bent over and spanked like a red-headed stepchild except that she probably gets off on such things.

Good compromise. I had a friend with lupus who died in childbirth of it, less than 10 years ago. It's serious stuff, and I'm glad you've given him an out.
Interesting way you have had them ID the locket so early - will Dumbledore recognize it from Luna's description?
Oh, Umbridge is toast. Party on!

Hey!
I've been reading your Danger Verse stories for a while now and just decided to send you a review to say how much a like this story! It is really rare that I like stories with so important OC and you have got me hanging at your every word! I adore you plots and ideas and story development and can't wait to see how all this will end!
Hm..the only thing I did not like very much was the idea of Remus adopting Harry. For some reason I always saw harry as being more lined to Sirius than Remus. (Maybe it would even be funny for Snape to adopt him..but i'm not sure..)
Anyway, great work!

I loved that line about 'Jumping the Broom'. I had thought it sounded familiar when I read it and then your explanation in the A/N made me say 'duh'. All and all it was a great chapter. Corona has a new friend in Brian Li. Who I'm personally interested. I have a thing for asian guys, and the fact that he's a werewolf made it better for me. Harry's imagination is pretty good, but I wasn't shocked or grossed out because I gave him a good imagination too in one of my fics. I'm looking forward to more. Oh! My mom bought me my own copy of 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' today and I cracked up when I was watching it, imagining the Pride playing all the parts. Cheers!

You rarely let you standards drop and this chapter is good, but I think things need to happen soon.
Please keep writing, the story is so good!

Jumping the Broom is common to both African and European traditions; there are both Scots and Welsh versions dating back to when church marriages were for the wealthy only and the common people's celebrations were simpler - like "marrying over the anvil" in Scotland. Jumping the Broom has been absorbed into neo-pagan ritual also; I jumped one with my ex-husband (and I kept the broom all the time we were married and burned it ritually when we divorced). It's perfectly logical that the house-elves would keep the tradition.

I just wanted you to know how pleased I am that I received an e-mail letting me know about your work. I am reading all of your "Danger" stories and just love the "Pack". I am trying to get work done but I find myself not wanting to do anything except read all of your stories and get caught up! Thank you for many enjoyable hours and just knowing I have a few more stories to read, makes me extremely happy. My 17 year old son is saying he is starting to feel neglected!

So we can safely assume that our mysterious spy was neither among the group that came for Harry, nor present when Hermione pointed out the overlap in ward construction, correct?
