Hello, I have been realy enjoying these latest chapters, reading them while keeping the parallel works of JKR in my mind and enjoying where they cross and where they diverge. Of course we know that Draco and Luna will end up at Borgin and Burkes, but what will happen next??? Can't wait to find out. I will certainly want to read 'A Widow in Waiting" onceit is published so will look forward to finding out when that happens. Good luck!!!

They will get into trouble -- what else? I'm having lots of fun playing off canon so stay with me!

Great chapter.
Loved the lesson with Snape. Harry is starting to get the hang of his lessons and is surprising Snape.
The quidditch scene was interesting.
Going with canon, Draco and Luna should have ended up in a very interesting shop in Knockturn Alley. They will need to go back the way they came or find some help soon.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Yes indeed, that is precisely where they are...

Awesome chapters! I liked the stuff about the Sword of Decision and the Beauvois finally being revealed, and the scene in the kitchen of the Pepper Pot. The alternate salute of F&G fits them so well. The lesson with Snape was pretty awesome as well. Can't wait to see more, and good luck next week!
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Gotta love the twins. Snape is... well, Snape. (Have been having some fun with an angry reviewer after me for, gasp, shock, portraying the Marauders as sending Snape silly packages...)

YAY!!!! Thankyou for the procrastination i was getting tired reading about heart failure... lovely little chapter! loved the occlumency lesson snape actually almost praised harry at the end! and i can't wait to see how luna and draco's accidental adventure goes! off to find dessert and then back to the study!
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Heart failure? Should I ask?

Hurray, another chapter!
I really liked it: Harry is growing up, some Draco/Luna-time (yay!), some Quidditch, some rebellious behaviour. What's not to like? ;)
So... Amanda is an heir to Slytherin. Or would be, if Alex hadn't been disowned or whatever they did to him. Hmm. Wasn't there something to do with that old woman/ghost they found when they were looking for Sanctuary? I'll have to re-read the previous DV-versions (oh nooooo, what an agony...).
And where did Draco and Luna end up? An old laboratory where no food is to be found, dusty and unused space... I'll have to have a think about it ;)
Keep up the good work!
Anne B. Walsh replied:
About Amanda: Yes and no. Disowning doesn't change the blood, but remember, Alex has mentioned before that all his blood Heirs are dead... as for Draco and Luna, where was the other Vanishing Cabinet in canon, the match to the one Draco Malfoy repaired?

Beauvoi, huh! LIke the family from _Be Careful_. Now you have me _all_ confused, as I thought the head of that family was an analog of Remus.
Well, the world (or at least the world in your head) gets weirder and weirder.
And if you're going in for professional publication, is there some reason you don't finish off the story of the shapechangers (can't remember the name, and with Trycanta down can't go look it up, worse luck!) and publish that? There's a good story, and AFAIK you didn't borrow any of it from somebody else.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
I think you're referring to "Natural Life"? Sadly, most of my inspiration for that has fallen by the wayside. However, you've got something with the fact that Remus, in the otherworld in "Be Careful", was indeed a Beauvoi...

I like what you did tying current people into old families, especially making Lucius named after a "mudblood." Good chapter as always!
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Yeah, that just seemed appropriate somehow.

Interesting! Loved the peeks at your other fic, thanks for the clarification on the Malfoy story and the Amanda/Alex stuff. It's starting to come together for me!
Great chapter, a nice break pacing-wise. I LOL'd at several points, great subtle use of humor.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Starting to come together is good... care to share your conclusions?

Hi! Good to see you sorry I haven't written lately life has been busy turning itself upsidedown and inside out but all is in fact in line to end well next week barring disasters (deep breath) I'm liking the directions the story is going and yes that is an intriguing first sentence plus plot outline it's a good narrative voice for a Regency-type novel very mannered and nose-in-the-air which makes it even more fun if/when it comes tumbling down off its pedestal (deep breath) enjoyed the Peanuts references also, lovely mental image of Sirius lying flat on his back looking chagrined because he fell for it AGAIN graceful recap on the Beauvoi/Malfoy thing for those who may not have been as careful what they are reading as others(deep breath) must dash got to medicate the large dog life has landed us with and finish cleaning and re-arranging the room for his Boy who will be Coming Home At Last after he graduates from highschool next week and isn't it just typical of my life that he should be doing the leaving-the-nest thing backwards and oh I am SO HAPPY!(faints from lack of air)(quick, bring the hartshorn!)
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Breathe, please. And no disasters. Large dogs can be fun... as Aletha would undoubtedly tell you.

YYYYAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! loved this chapter especially the whole beauvoi/malfoy/silversword/gryffindorsword revelation of which we basically already knew most of but its nice to have it out there straight and having the characters actually knowing it themselves... thankyou for the nice little study break but now back to it! p.s. enjoy your movie!
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Yep, it's nice to have the characters find out what we, the readers, have been yelling at the page for years...

A quiet chapter, but nice. I hadn't made the connection between Gryffindor's Sword and the Sword of Decision, although I remember the later story well enough to be seeing present-day parallels. (Between that and Danger's first dream, I think we're going to see the Sword choose Arthur Weasley as Minister of Magic.) So, the Bloody Baron was the grandfather of Alex's wife (and thus Amanda's great-grandfather)? Will we see those two interact at any point?
Anne B. Walsh replied:
No, the Bloody Baron is Amanda's grandfather. Sorry to confuse.

Hah! So you found a different way for Harry to get hold of "The Half-Blood Prince's" potion book.
Sneaky Anne.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
I do try.

I return from the darkness! An awesome couple of chapters. :D I like the plottings and plannings, the little twists on canon (like the book), and Snape's first lesson. All very good, can't wait to see more.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Yay, you're back! *dances* More coming.

Thankyou for this wonderful update.
I loved the little bits of comedy in it. The 'no secs' joke and Draco having to watch out for Harry in a 'marauding mood' are just so amusing.
I wonder what burden Dumbldore has to tell the pack?
I look forward to reading more.
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Well, this is sixth year. What did Harry find out in canon sixth year that he had to go out and do?

I really like how this is developing. I can't wait to hear more. Loved the integration of the book-it will be fun to see where that is going. I am very confused with the Amanda stuff-I think I know WHO she is, but not WHY, and will be patiently awaiting more clues on that front. Keep it coming!
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Alex will be telling a story at some point which will shed some more light on the why. Though Amanda told it once before, if you want to go back and look at Chapter 26 of FD...

Very good chapter once again... and i like harry's idea for everyone to get the hbp's potion notes... i enjoyed the secs joke too though that might just be the teenager side of me coming out...
Anne B. Walsh replied:
Hey, they are teenagers, so why not make the same jokes they would?
